哈佛心理學家Ellen J. Langer,在2007的研究,針對84位在飯店工作的女性清潔員,設計了一個有趣的實驗,請他們把『上班打掃的勞動工作』,透過心理學方法(Mind-set)轉念為『擁有足夠運動,也有健康的生活型態』,結果發現這樣的轉念,顯著讓“有轉念組”的清潔員在4週內體重減少2磅,血壓也降低接近10%,身體的脂肪比率及身體質量指數(BMI)也都顯著低於“沒有轉念組”(即維持如往常4週的工作及心態),雖然這個研究沒有去測量睡眠相關的指標,但不論如何,研究者提醒我們,只要你可以轉個想法,也許也可以把白天的勞動,變成是增加身心理健康的方法喲!
