哈佛心理學家Ellen J. Langer，在2007的研究，針對84位在飯店工作的女性清潔員，設計了一個有趣的實驗，請他們把『上班打掃的勞動工作』，透過心理學方法（Mind-set）轉念為『擁有足夠運動，也有健康的生活型態』，結果發現這樣的轉念，顯著讓“有轉念組”的清潔員在4週內體重減少2磅，血壓也降低接近10%，身體的脂肪比率及身體質量指數（BMI）也都顯著低於“沒有轉念組”（即維持如往常4週的工作及心態），雖然這個研究沒有去測量睡眠相關的指標，但不論如何，研究者提醒我們，只要你可以轉個想法，也許也可以把白天的勞動，變成是增加身心理健康的方法喲！
